Welcome Kadence Raine!!!

I find it funny how I somehow make one last posting on the blog and then I go into labor!

Wednesday, March 9 I woke up at around 1 am to the start of contractions. I got up and went to the bathroom as usual and then started timing them. Seeing how the week prior I just had false alarm contractions in the night, I didn't want this to be another false alarm. The first hour went by and the contractions were 10 minutes apart, then during the second hour they were 7 minutes apart. At this time I decided I should try waking up Austin to let him know I was feeling contractions again. Seeing how they were consistent this time and I was starting to get really uncomfortable with pain, we decided we should get ready and go to the hospital. After we got everything packed and loaded, we got Aubrey in the car and drove her to Austin's parents' house. It was around 3:30 am at this time and my contractions were 3 minutes apart. We got checked in to the hospital around 4:30 am and they asked me questions and checked me before admitting me. I was 6 cm dilated!!! I moved quickly on my own and was shocked that I was that far along! They moved quickly and put me in a room and I waited maybe an hour or so before I was able to get the epidural. I was nervous this time for the epidural procedure because I was given something else prior last time to take the edge off. It really wasn't that bad, the worst part was having the contractions while he was doing it. I could feel the epidural kick in at first through my left side, he had to keep giving me more to help me feel it on the right and they moved me to my right side so it would flow there.

They check me again and I was a 8 cm dilated and I think it was only 6 am. I was moving fast! They said I could have her within an hour but they wanted to hold off since I needed another round of antibiotics and they could hang the bag starting at 8 am. My water hadn't broke on its own so we waited some more. 8 am rolled around, McKernan came in and did some rapping : ) They hung another bag of antibiotics and I was still 8-9 cm so they gave me some pitocin to moved me along to 10 after McKernan broke my water. I'm not sure exactly what time she checked me but within minutes McKernan was in and I was ready to push. Austin said it was only like 6-10 minutes later and only after 4 pushes Kadence was here! I asked for a mirror so I could watch and it was amazing, I even got to pull her out!
